Ole Miss Recruiting Momentum Continues with 4-Star WR Lawrence Britt

It’s a busy time of year at the Manning Center in Oxford.

Ole Miss football has started spring practices and highly-rated, elite recruits are making visits seemingly every other day. It’s an exciting time of the season, one where every team has hope and optimism.

That hope isn’t limited to on the field. It extends to the recruiting trail where Ole Miss is making some noise. Last weekend saw a ton of recruits visit Ole Miss and their reactions have been coming out since then and they’ve all been good.

The latest reaction comes from Memphis Lausanne Collegiate four-star wide receiver Lawrence Britt, who Ole Miss made a big impression on last weekend.

“I’ve been there four times now, and they made a big move this time,” Britt said to Rivals. “They continue to show they send guys to the league. They get the ball to everyone in the offense, and that has always had them on my list.

“I got to see the new staff and how I would be used in the system. I also got to really build relationships with the whole staff.

“Several things stood out. First, the intensity at practice and how polished they looked. Second, the relationships I built with them over the last couple of days. And finally, just the love I got from the whole staff.”

The staff member to make the biggest impression was wide receivers coach L’Damion Washington.

“I spent a lot of time with Coach Washington,” Britt said. “He told me about his background and showed me how I would be used in the system. Watching how he coached his guys stood out — I can tell he pours into his players and really focuses on development.”

Britt has several big name schools recruiting him. Rivals’ Chad Simmons specifically mentioned Clemson, Missouri, Vanderbilt and Texas Tech as all being in the mix. But now we can add Ole Miss to the list.

“It was a great experience,” he said. “This definitely gives me something to think about. This visit pushed Ole Miss back up in the race.

“They will get an official visit — we’re working on setting that date now.”

Visits like Britt’s are becoming a pattern this spring.

Ole Miss is stacking positive impressions, building relationships, and keeping itself in the mix with high‑end talent.

It’s early, but the Rebels are doing exactly what they need to do right now.
