The Gertrude C. Ford Center begins its 2018-2019 season with the show Robert Frost: This Verse Business on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 7:30 p.m.

The one-man show stars Emmy-winning actor Gordon Clapp, who is known best for his role as Detective Greg Medavoy on NYPD Blue on ABC.

The show is comprised of pieces from Frost’s stand-up show that he used to travel across the country performing, according to according to Kate Meacham, marketing director for the Ford Center.

“Robert Frost was a very entertaining person on his respective platform,” said Andrew Dolan, playwright of the show, in an email to HottyToddy.

Dolan compared him to famous writer Mark Twain in the sense both liked to share “wild surmises” on many subjects.

“Like Oxford’s own William Faulkner, he often found the universal in the local,” he said.

“Robert Frost: This Verse Business” has been enjoyed by numerous critics such as John Lahr, from The New Yorker, according to Dolan.
