Ole Miss didn’t need fireworks to finish its road trip. It just needed to stay steady, stay organized, and keep doing the things that have worked through the first two weeks of the season.
A 2-0 win at UAB on Sunday night checked every box.
Four matches. Four wins. Three shutouts. That’s a pretty good way to come home.
The Rebels controlled the match from the start, even if the scoreboard took its time catching up. Sarah Granno nearly opened the scoring in the third minute, and Ole Miss kept leaning forward from there. Jenna Studer, Ava Ghoreishi, Isabella Pontieri, and Bella Leonard all had first‑half looks, and the Rebels walked into halftime with a 6-2 shot advantage and five corner kicks.
It felt like a matter of when, not if.
The second half finally brought the payoff. After knocking on the door all night, Granno broke through in the 56th minute on a clean finish set up by Teaghan Irvin.

It was Granno’s first goal of the season and Irvin’s first career assist in her first career start, which is the kind of detail that says a lot about how Ole Miss is building depth early in the year.
Six minutes later, Becca Skinner stepped to the spot and buried a penalty to make it 2-0. That gave Ole Miss the breathing room it had earned long before the ball hit the net.
Easyyyy 😮💨

From there, the Rebels did what they’ve done so well during this 4-0-0 start. They closed. UAB managed one real threat in the 65th minute, but Taylor Prigge turned it away and kept the shutout intact. The Blazers didn’t put another shot on frame the rest of the night.
Prigge finished with two saves and her third shutout of the season. Ole Miss finished with a 13-5 shot advantage, eight corner kicks, and another match where it dictated tempo and possession.
It’s early, but this road stretch showed something important.
Ole Miss is comfortable playing its style. It’s comfortable defending. It’s comfortable grinding through long stretches before the goals come.
That’s how you stack wins in August and set up the rest of the season.
The Rebels return home Thursday to host Memphis at 7 p.m. on SECN+.
