Gallery: Oxford High Baseball Wins 5A State Title

On May 19, a Thursday afternoon, the Oxford Chargers claimed back-to-back 5A state titles by defeating Hattiesburg by a score of 10-0.

After the first two innings, the Chargers had the game well in hand with the score of 8-0. Oxford added a run in the fourth and in the sixth. Thomas Dillard made sure the game was over with his home run in the sixth.

The Chargers got all of their runs on eight hits in the game. The Chargers’ pitcher Houston Roth only allowed three hits in his complete game of work.

Chargers’ Coach Chris Baughman was named the 5A Coach of the year.
