Skip the Sweets for Better Treats at "Healthy Halloween" Event
Kids don’t have to gorge themselves on sweets to enjoy Halloween this year, thanks to a “Healthy Halloween” event co-sponsored by Operation Fit Nation and Rebel Body Fitness 24-7.
“Healthy Halloween” will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 27, at Lafayette High School Commons. The event is designed to promote healthy behaviors for children while having fun and encouraging a safe celebration of the holiday.
The Lafayette High School Commons will be transformed into a child-friendly zone where kids can play games, test their fitness and nutrition knowledge, get grab-bags with nutritious treats and more.
Upon entering, each family will receive a flyer that highlights all of the event supporters and activities. Families are encouraged to visit every vendor’s booth to encourage their continued support.
Activities include a Trunk-or-Treat hosted in the parking lot by the Future Farmers of America. Blood pressure screenings will also be offered to parents.
Additional “Healthy Halloween” events will take place at the Charleston Elementary School in Charleston (4:30-6 p.m., October 24) and at the Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Mississippi in Batesville (5-7 p.m., October 26).
