A shark has appeared on social media and Ole Miss fans know what that means. Commitment watch has begun.

Ole Miss coach Pete Golding posted a shark emoji on the site formerly known as Twitter, which usually signals that a commitment is about to go public. Now we wait to see who will be joining the Rebels’ 2027 signing class.
The three most likely candidates are four-star safety Darrell Mattison, four-star wide receiver Alvin Mosley and four-star interior offensive lineman Antonio Keefer.
Mattison would be this writer’s prediction. Ever since the Illinois safety decommitted from Michigan earlier this month, Ole Miss has been heavily linked to him. 247Sports’ Tom Loy is reporting that the Rebels have surged to the front for Mattison, who backed off his Michigan pledge shortly after a visit to Oxford.
There’s also momentum around Keefer. OMSpirit’s Zach Berry logged a prediction Thursday morning that the four-star lineman will commit to Ole Miss. The timing of that and Golding’s post could be a coincidence. But the universe is rarely that lazy.
Mosley is still firmly in the mix, too. He trimmed his list to six last week, and Ole Miss made the cut alongside Houston, SMU, TCU, Tennessee and Texas.
Of course, there’s always the chance the commitment comes from someone completely off the radar.
Either way, the watch has officially begun.
