Indictment Handed Down In Ole Miss Motel Murder Case


Back in October 2016, Ludie Lassiter, 52, of Pennington, Alabama, was arrested and charged with manslaughter. According to OPD, Lassiter has been indicted by a grand jury on the manslaughter charge. Lassiter is charged with choking Chandler Jenkins, 39, of Lafayette County, Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene. 
The indictment stated that the incident happened in the “heat of passion,” not in self-defense and without premeditation. 
On the night of the incident, Lassiter was taken into custody at Baptist Memorial Hospital, where he was being treated for major injuries he sustained during the struggle.
