Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, November 20 – 22
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 31 alarms, 24 suspicious activities, 20 improper parking, 13 disturbances, nine lost properties, eight civil matters, seven welfare concerns, six petit larcenies, six noise violations, five fire department assists, four ambulance assists, four motorist assists, four malicious mischief, two careless driving, two false pretenses, two shopliftings, two counterfeit currencies, two house burglaries at Mondrian Lane and North 11th Street, an animal complaint, a harassing phone call, a credit card fraud, an auto-burglary at University Avenue, a code violation, a simple assault and a 911 hang up call.
Oxford police investigated 28 wrecks, issued 95 traffic citations and made 104 arrests on the following charges:

(5) Careless driving and DUI
(3) Minor in possession, fake ID and open container
(2) Shoplifting
(2) Operating an illegal taxi

Public intoxication and resisting arrest
No driver’s license, failure to yield and a DUI
Public intoxication, resisting arrest and a simple assault

Sprinkler system alert at 11:40 a.m. by workers working the sprinkler system without notifying the dispatch at Natural Products
Ambulance standby at 6:59 p.m. at 107 Cotton Creek since no ambulance was available
Smoke detector malfunction at 10:37 p.m. at Sigma Alpha Epsilon house
Friday, November 20
Fire extinguisher discharged at 1:23 a.m. as a prank on 10th floor of Stockard Hall
Cancelled call at 9:01 a.m. at Delta Gamma house
Cancelled call at 2:20 p.m. at Highway 6 and West Jackson Avenue
Car fire at 2:34 p.m. on Highway 6 behind the soccer fields

Cancelled call at 8:58 a.m. at 2504 Capital Street
Smoke detector activation at 5:36 p.m. by cooking at 112 Orrwood
Wreck with a spill at 6:34 p.m. at College Hill Road and Golf Course Road intersection where the fire department discovered the spill was antifreeze, not gas
Unfounded call at 11:19 p.m. due to a neighbor thinking an apartment was on fire because she saw a yellow light at C.B. Webb Apartments

How many of the illegal parkings were on game day and possibly in front of a bed and breakfast that isnt very well marked as no parking and then hauled off the car and left vistors not knowing anything., while police watched them park. Same story every ball game. Easy money if i am right for some one in uniform.
