Video: Collegiate Tutoring Offers Rush Workshops for Incoming Freshman
Collegiate Tutoring, a company that offers various tutoring services for multiple college campuses, is offering workshops for incoming female freshmen who plan to participate in Ole Miss’ sorority rush in the fall of 2018.
Claire Carter, a former tutor of Collegiate Tutoring, was approached by Lee Ingram, founder of the company, about offering a service to the incoming freshmen class. Carter was happy to join the company once more because she knows from a first-hand experience how there can be many challenges for students when going through rush.
“It’s so easy to come [to Ole Miss] and know a lot about rush,” Carter said. “But for girls [out-of-state], they don’t have the knowledge about Ole Miss sorority rush.”
Carter said that Ole Miss is different from other college sorority rushes and that each school has different levels of competition. The workshop sessions are to teach the incoming freshman the ins and outs of Ole Miss rush and to help prepare them for the long rush week.
“Regardless of your knowledge of overall rush experience, I think this workshop is important of how Ole Miss does it and how competitive it is,” Carter said.
The workshops will take place during this summer’s orientation weekends. Attendees will learn how to receive recommendation letters, readjust social media platforms and learn how each session during rush works.
