The Powerhouse offers a new evening class that promises a relaxing introduction to painting in watercolors. There are four classes from 6:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. with dates tonight, June 13, June 20 and June 27.
The students will explore the fluid nature of watercolor by engaging smaller scale sketchbook-size projects. They will play with color harmonies, create lush “wet-on-wet” forms with soft washes, try transparent glazes that seem like stained glass, experiment with color-charged background space, create miniature watercolor landscapes and seascapes and learn to choose creative watercolor projects.
The cost to register is $150 for YAC members and $165 for non-members.
Tuesday, June 7
At the Powerhouse, the students will learn ballet from Caleb Mitchell from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. with $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
