20 Things You Might Have Missed at Ole Miss This Summer
We know many of you leave in May and come back in August and think that the campus shuts down without your presence.
Well, sorry if its a blow to your ego, but Ole Miss continues to thrive all summer long. And here’s the evidence for just some of the great events that happened in the golden months of May, June and July.

1. The new Rebel Market opened.
2. Staff members are treated to a free “desk yoga” class sponsored by RebelWell as well as a plant swap at the Union as part of Staff Appreciation Week.
3. The Little Rebel Football Camp was held in the indoor practice facility at the Manning Athletics Performance Center.
4. Ole Miss held auditions, then filmed a new TV ad.
5. A new VISTA Summer Associate was sworn in. Housed at UM, the North Mississippi VISTA Project works in 23 countries to build <br>sustainable systems that connect the university and its resources to low income communities in the region.
6. High school students construct and launch air rockets at Brevard Hall as part of the UM Engineering Camp sponsored by Mechanical Engineering ang the CMSE.
7. Ole Miss Tennis Camp
8. The Ole Miss Musical Theatre Department held a workshop (conducted by Julia Aubrey) for youth to develop skills in music, drama and movement.
9. Of course, Ole Miss celebrated the 4th of July in style
10. Elementary students participated in art activities at the UM Museum Summer Camp.
11. High school students race derby cars they designed and build during Engineering Camp.
12. Construction continues on a new parking garage near Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
13. The Writing Center in Lamar Hall was renovated.
14. Attendees constructed balloon rockets to study propulsion as part of the Center for Mathematics and Science Education Camp.
15. The Ole Miss volleyball team hosted Lil’ Rebel Day Camp in the Gillom Sports Complex.
16. UM faculty and staff members attended the Rebel Well Wellness on wheels, a free health fair.
17. Horizons kids had fun with the members of the Ole Miss Rebels soccer team.
18. APEX Leadership Summit participants took on the Ole Miss Challenge Course.
19. Pak Mail facility opened in Crosby Hall.
20. And last, but not least, the roundabouts on Old Taylor road were completed.
