Ole Miss Grads Serving Delicious Lunches in Oxford
Chris and Blake Hill will soon be celebrating their one year anniversary with
Honeybaked Ham here in Oxford located at 204 Merchants Drive. In addition to offering inviting lunches and dinners, catering is also an integral part of their operation. HottyToddy.com visited with Chris recently between meals.
HottyToddy.com: Chris, it’s wonderful to see alums like you and Blake returning to Oxford to open a business such as Honeybaked Ham.
Chris: I was looking to open up a business and I thought a HoneyBaked Ham would be a good fit for Oxford. We spent so much time in Oxford attending sporting events, shopping and meeting up with friends it was an easy move for us.
HottyToddy.com: Your lunch sandwiches have become a trademark of “quality” especially the ham and turkey.
Chris: The ham and turkey we use for our sandwiches is the same premium ham and turkey we sell in whole units. HoneyBaked Ham is the world’s best ham and our roasted and smoked turkey breasts are also of the highest quality.
HottyToddy.com: How are the hams prepared and is it true you do all the “glazing” in store?
Chris: All of our hams are slow smoked for up to 24 hours, spiral sliced, and then we hand glaze them with our special spices in the back of the store. The sweet glaze is a perfect compliment to the smoky flavor of the ham.
HottyToddy.com: With schedules so volatile in this society, it’s refreshing that you serve lunch anytime from 10-6 daily and 11-3 on weekends.
Chris: Yes, Lunch is available at those times and made fresh every day.
HottyToddy.com: We haven’t discussed how reasonable your pricing is?
Chris: Our sandwich prices range from $5.99 up to $6.99 and all of them are pretty filling.
HottyToddy.com: Catering provides a number of different options for the consumer. Could you describe the various tray selections?
Chris: Our Signature Meat Tray is a custom meat tray with your choice of our ham, smoked turkey, roasted turkey and roast beef. The Supreme Sandwich Tray allows you to choose from an assortment of our sandwiches, cut in halves and includes chips. The Sandwich Builder Buffet starts with the Signature Meat Tray but adds Swiss and cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato and an assortment of our breads. The VIP Buffet is the Sandwich Builder Buffet but adds a choice of two fresh deli sides and a tray of cookies for dessert.
HottyToddy.com: For local companies desiring to cater a lunch meeting, your boxed lunches are an excellent choice.
Chris: I often recommend our boxed lunches for lunch meetings. The Boxed Lunches come with a sandwich, chips, pickle spear and a cookie. If you are pressed for time, it’s a great option to allow you to continue your meeting with minimal interruption.
HottyToddy.com: It’s also good to know that you deliver your catering orders throughout the city.
Chris: Yes, we will deliver our catering orders within the Oxford city limits for a $10 delivery fee.
HottyToddy.com: Another tremendous feature of HoneyBaked Ham is the ability to select a frozen side along with dessert from your display case. This has to be popular for those wanting an evening free from cooking.
Chris: At HoneyBaked Ham, we can take care of your whole meal. We are famous for our ham and turkey but we also have a delicious pot roast with brown gravy, BBQ pork roast, and sides such as broccoli rice casserole, au gratin potatoes, sweet potato soufflé, and desserts like cheesecake, coffee cake, rum cake, pecan pie and apple caramel walnut pie. I would like to add that our hams and turkeys come in a variety of sizes that will serve an anywhere from a couple of people or up to twenty or more. Just come by and let our staff help you with your planning.
